Welcome to my marathon fundraising page! My name is Sarah, and I’ve been a part of the Special Days Camp family for the last six years as a Youth Camp counselor. I love to work with our youngest age group (5-7 year olds), the All Stars!
Special Days gives youth cancer patients, survivors, and their siblings an unforgettable camp experience. Camp is magical. It’s a nurturing environment where people are living in the moment and interacting with each other in nature, not distracted by social media or news of the world outside of the camp ‘bubble.’ Medical treatment is provided by nurses and physicians whose main goal is to blend in and let the kids simply be kids. One camper said that in a life of instability, camp is the one thing that can you can always count on; the one place that can never let you down… the one time of year when life is stable. And that is why I am committed to keeping camp alive!
We are raising money to help kids experience the magic of camp. Their families are asked to donate $75, but no-one is turned away; cancer treatment can be a huge financial burden on a family. It actually costs over $1,000 to send each child to camp for a week. Please consider joining my fundraiser to keep the Special Days magic alive, bring a few more kids into our camp family, and support the Youth Camp Team – because until there’s a cure, I’ll #RunForSDC.
To help kick things off, I will match the first $100 in donations! Thank you!
